ABOUT

Conducting court at the 150th Anniversary of the  Historic Washington County Courthouse on June 2, 2017.  The first regular full court calendar at the Historic Courthouse in over 40 years.

We get lots of visitors at court.  Here I am with a Webelo's pack from Woodbury that visited court.  The courthouse is open for visitors during regular courthouse hours (8:00 am-4:30 pm).  Most cases are open to the public.

ABOUT

Weddings at the Fair:  In 2012, I performed over 40 weddings and renewal of wedding vow ceremonies at the Washington County Fair for free.  I enjoyed meeting so many amazing people.

ABOUT

I have enjoyed coaching boys'  high school basketball at St. Croix Lutheran Academy for over 10 years.  We've made the State Tournament 3 times in the last 6 years.  Here I am at Williams Arena during pre-game warm-ups.

June 2016:  Washington County Yellow Ribbon Network  presentation about Washington County's Veterans' Court Program.  With other program participants.

ABOUT

I was honored to be asked to swear in my friend, Dan Starry, as Washington County's Sheriff on May 2, 2107.  Also pictured is his wife, Jeanice Starry.

ABOUT

Swearing in elected officials is one of the enjoyable things that judges get to do.  Here I am swearing in State Senator Karin Housley for her first term.  Proudly standing by is her husband, Hockey Hall of Famer Phil Housley

My wife, Sue, and I ran a half-marathon in Kona, Hawaii in June, 2006.  Sue ran to raise money for the American Stroke Association.  I ran along with her for support. Here we are on the home stretch with about 4 miles to go.

ABOUT

I have served as an advisor to the Stillwater Area High School Mock Trial team - a law-related program which challenges students in critical thinking, teamwork and trial skills.   The young women and men are bright, energetic, and highly motivated.
