Helpful Legal Sites

There is a wealth of legal research and reference material available on the internet.  Here are links to some of the ones that I find useful:
Minnesota Courts Homepage.
This is the first step to learn about the courts and have access to appellate decisions.  From here you can also access the Minnesota State Law Library (shh, no talking please!):
Minnesota State Legislature.
This site has access to Minnesota Rules & Statutes.  It also has information on pending legislation.  From here you can also find links allowing you to contact your senator and representative:
Office of Minnesota Governor.
The Governor is the State's most visible public official.  Exploring this site will give you insight into what our State's Chief Executive Officer is involved with:
Office of Minnesota Secretary of State.
The Secretary of State's office has a lot of fascinating information about elections and voting in Minnesota.  There is also a great section to learn about the history of Minnesota's counties, including how they got their names.  A lot of great statistical information is waiting here for you to impress your friends with:
Minnesota Attorney General.
The Attorney General is also a state constitutional officer.  The "A.G." is the state's top law enforcement officer.  This office brings and defends lawsuits on behalf of the the state (and does a whole lot more).  Learn more at:

If you are representing yourself in court, you might find this to be a useful site:
